Inferno Joker (Play’n GO): Overview
If you’re ever hit with a sudden craving for retro chic 3-reel slot machines, Play’n GO is a good place to start. Over the years, the Swedish studio has produced a whole bunch of them which includes titles such as Mystery Joker, Mystery Joker 6000, Sweet 27, Big Win Cat, and Hugo Goal. The most famous one, however, is a slot known as Fire Joker, a fiery offering that owes much of its success to the casino streaming community where it has been showcased by some of the biggest names on Twitch. And truthfully speaking, it’s surprisingly good for a slot comprised of only 3 reels, that has no free spins and offers a maximum win of only 800x.
Inferno Joker is the 5-reel equivalent of Fire Joker you could say. Just like its sibling, it comes with a re-spin feature, only this time you have the chance to land considerably larger wins. Played using a 5×3, 5-payline game engine, you can enjoy this game across all devices from as little as 0.05 up to €/£100 per spin which makes it suitable for low-rollers and high-rollers alike.
Design-wise, Inferno Joker is simple but well crafted. When we first caught a glimpse of it, the early version of Inferno Joker looked somewhat lifeless. Thankfully, it has since been improved with some added texture and polishing to give it more life and sparkle. It’s not the most awe-inspiring game we’ve seen, but the simplicity is part of the concept when replicating the retro feel of the fruit slot era. With a gradient purple backdrop, symbols on the reels include cherries, plums, watermelons, stacks of gold bars and lucky sevens. There’s also a purple joker which is the top payer, giving you 100 times your stake for five on a full payline.
Inferno Joker (Play’n GO): Features
With no wild to support you, everything comes down to the inferno scatter symbol. If a single inferno scatter hits the central reel, the Re-Spin feature comes into play. Now, all reels that have a joker symbol on it, including the central one, will be held in position while the other reels spin again. Moreover, the regular jokers will all be transformed into inferno scatters.
If, during the re-spin, additional joker symbols appear on the reels, these are also held in position while another re-spin is played. This cycle repeats until either no new jokers land in view, or you have a full screen of inferno scatters, in which case you will win the maximum payout of 2500 times your stake.
Inferno Joker (Play’n GO): Verdict
It’s important to understand that, in spite of its simple appearance, Inferno Joker is a highly volatile game that involves quite a lot of risk while also offering a maximum reward that is only half of what you see in other high variance slots from Play’n GO. On the other hand, you are much more likely to hit a full screen of inferno jokers here than you are landing a full screen of explorer symbols in Book of Dead.
Although we’re not huge fans of fruit slots ourselves, they seem to be in high demand – King Spin Deluxe, Burn ‘Em Up, Win Win, and Mega Rise are just a few of such slots we’ve reviewed in the past month. We have to say though; Inferno Joker is one of the better ones. It’s fast-paced, smooth to play, looks great, and the potential is better than in most fruit slots. Like most Play’n GO slots as of recent, Inferno Joker is going to be well received, we’re sure.
