Gemtastic – Introduction

Get your safety helmet on and grab your gear, it’s mining time! There’s something eery about this cave though for when you leave the game on idle, mysterious noises and creepy footsteps reverberate through the speekers. Eek! But don’t worry – hit the spin button and those distinguishable Red Tiger soundwaves will start to tickle your tympanic membrane. Ironically, Gemtastic doesn’t have any spinning reels. Instead, it makes use of a cascading game engine played on a 6×5 grid with 30 paylines.

Admittedly, it was the massive potential that first caught our attention, but there’s more to Gemtastic than that. In this Red Tiger Gaming creation players will benefit from an array of exciting features such as Lava Multipliers, Magic Glow and Mega Gems. You can play the game on just about any platform you can think of and in over 30 languages. Vietnamese or Colombian? Why not. Players can get on the ride with bets as low as 0.20 EUR per spin or up to 10 EUR if that’s your thing. It’s graded as a maximum volatile slot by Red Tiger themselves so better tread carefully.

Visually, Gemtastic takes you deep down a mysterious lava cave full of glowing valuables, and as we’ve come to expect from this provider, it’s delivered with top notch graphics and smooth gameplay. Again, leave it on idle and watch the reel set breathe — an insignificant detail to some, but a nice touch nevertheless that gives the game a premium feel.

Gemtastic – Symbols, Paytable & Features

Lava Multiplier in action

There are plenty of valuable mineral crystals to mine here. On the reels you’ll find 5 smaller gemstones representing the low-value symbols as well as 4 larger high-value symbols in the form of pink, red, green and yellow gemstones. 6 yellow gems on a payline yields a win of 8 times your stake. The rainbow coloured wild, however, is the jewel in the crown and gives you 50 times your stake for 6 across a payline.

In their standard format, all gems appear as 1×1 symbols but may also appear as 2×2 or even 3×3 Mega Gems. Furthermore, keep an eye out for any sparkling gems. If they form part of a winning combination, they’ll disperse and transform into wilds on the subsequent re-spin.

Gemtastic does not include a conventional free spin feature. Instead, it’s all about the Lava Multiplier. Now, every time you land a winning combination, the Lava Multiplier ladder comes into play, and each consecutive win will trigger the multiplier to climb higher, up to a maximum of 15x. There’s some massive potential involved here with a chance to land wins of up to 10,000 times your stake.

Gemtastic – Conclusion

If you’re into slots featuring chain reactions, Gemtastic is a must try. It’s straightforward and simplistic enough to allow just about anyone to get going without having to figure stuff out.

Also, as we came to experience ourselves, it can spit out a ridiculous amount of wilds. Add a juicy multiplier to that equation and the payouts can get quite crazy. If there’s anything we liked a bit less, it’s the limitation in paylines, although it’s by no means a deal-breaker.
