Fat Rabbit: Slot Overview
If you’re after a bit of clean country air to go with your online slot gaming, it doesn’t get much fresher than it does in Fat Rabbit from developer Push Gaming. Not just an amusing name, Fat Rabbit describes the game’s main character and his physical transformation during the bonus round. There, weight concerns go out the window as a wild rabbit symbol takes over the screen, literally in some cases, converting plenty of thrills and wins in the process. For a light-hearted examination of life on the farm, let’s take a look at Fat Rabbit.
Fat Rabbit’s corn fed gaming takes place on a 5×5 sized grid, providing players with 50 fixed paylines to land winning combinations across. Push Gaming has done a great job of giving Fat Rabbit several video game touches, such as symbol representation, particularly the characters, plus the way winning totals appear on the screen and count up. The rest of the view is of a pleasing quality as well, while birds chirp and a gently jangling soundtrack reinforces the amiability. Maybe it’s the game’s sunny weather, but Fat Rabbit has an outrageous feel-good factor before even hitting the spin button to see what it can do.
Also before hitting spin is the matter of bet selection where Fat Rabbit allows stakes from 25 p/c to £/€100 to be set. Any device is suitable for playing Fat Rabbit, too, whether it be desktop, tablet or mobile phone. Being a Push Gaming release, two things you can rely on behind the scenes are a solid RTP, in this case, 96.45%, and a highly volatile math model. Decent wins are possible, too, though they aren’t anywhere near as impressive as what Push Gaming slots are capable of since. The good part is that chasing the game’s potential is as fun in Fat Rabbit as it is just about anywhere.
Throughout the game, the symbols you’ll bump into include eight normal pays and a couple of wilds. Pay symbols are divided into lower-paying card suits, so clubs, diamonds, hearts, and spades, that look like whittled wood. These are followed by higher value haystacks, buckets of water, a vicious looking dog, and a stern farmer. Landing a full line of five premium symbols will get you a payout worth 6 to 20 times your stake. The rabbit symbol is worth the same as the farmer. It is also one of the wilds, so it substitutes for all other paying symbols while being the key to many of the features.
Fat Rabbit: Slot Features
Fat Rabbit comes with three features – one is the Harvest Feature, another is free spins, where the Expanding Wild Rabbit extra comes into play. The Harvest feature triggers randomly while the reels are spinning. When activated, a tractor drives from top to bottom over the game grid, leaving Wild Carrot Symbols in random positions on the board. Wins are calculated with the wilds in place once the reels stop spinning.
If carrot symbols are in view at the same time as a rabbit symbol, then free spins are triggered. Players start with 5 free spins, which can be extended at certain points. Free spins start with a 1×1 sized rabbit wild who remains on the reels but jumps to a new position in between free spins.
That’s not all he does, though. Now, when carrot symbols land, the rabbit bounders over and eats them. After he has consumed a specific number, he grows in size, and each time he levels up, additional free spins are awarded as well, like so:
- Level 1 – 1×1 size, 4 carrots to collect.
- Level 2 – grows to 2×2 size and awards +3 free spins, 5 carrots to collect.
- Level 3 – grows to 3×3 size and awards +2 free spins, 5 carrots to collect.
- Level 4 – grows to 4×4 size and awards +2 free spins, 3 carrots to collect.
- Level 5 – grows to 5×5 size and awards +1 free spin.
Fat Rabbit: Slot Verdict
Fat Rabbit is one of those games that is very easy to fall for. Its friendly vibe draws you in, with chunky graphics that nod towards earlier sprite-based video games. The kind that didn’t have as many pixels to work with so had to make every single one count to paint relatable characters. There are several of those in Fat Rabbit, none more so than the big white bunny himself.
Unlike the current trend for slimming down and pumping iron to get a Baywatch body, you’ll want to feed this Rabbit up Hansel and Gretel style. Not to eat him, this time, but to get him linking as many symbols as possible during free spins in his larger forms. And yes, it is possible to grow the Rabbit symbol to full size before the bonus game is over. Do so, and you collect 1,000 times the bet payouts on every single remaining free spin – not easy to accomplish but a treat to witness. These capabilities give Fat Rabbit a theoretical max win of 10,000x the bet, though the highest payout observed during simulated spins was 3,844 times the stake.
That might not sound like a whole lot of winnings now, compared to what Push Gaming has done since in games like Dinopolis or Razor Shark. However, the relatively low potential doesn’t lessen the thrill of getting an expanding wild rabbit on a carrot binge during free spins, leaping from one position to another adjoining win lines. He’s not going to feast on carrots every time free spins trigger. In fact, it can seem he denies himself calories of any type at times. Get him on a great carrot binge, though, and you can see why Fat Rabbit remains one of Push Gaming’s lasting favourites.
