Easter Island

When we wrote the sneak preview article, we weren’t too excited about Easter Island to be quite honest. The reason was the medium volatility index of the game. It just didn’t have that crazy potential that we like to see in slots.

But what it lacks in maximum potential, it makes up in entertainment value! And let’s face it, what fun would it be if ALL games were mega high potential monsters, on which we rarely, if ever, hit any monster wins on anyway. We need some decent wagering games too, don’t we?

When we fired up this game we didn’t expect much, that’s why the intro cought us by surprise. It’s likely one of the weirdest slot moments we’ve ever had to be honest. You have to watch the video to understand what we mean.

Easter Island is a light hearted slot and the two animated Moai stones standing next to the game table makes this slot special to say the least! Yggdrasil have done an outstanding job, creating a visually stunning game with surprisingly good mechanics.

The Gameplay

We’ll try to keep it short and then you can watch the video.

The base game is made up of 5 reels, 3 rows and 27 paylines. If you land a winning combination on reel 1-3 you will get a respin with extra of the winning symbols added to increase the chance of a big win on the re-spin. A 4-of-a-kind win awards a 5 reel tall respin (65 paylines) and a 5-of-a-kind win awards a 7 reel tall respin (103 paylines). This of course increases the number of paylines and thus the max win.

There is a Wild symbol which is present on reel 2 and 4. Wilds that land on winning spins are sticky and expand to cover the entire reel. This means the Wild will follow you into the expanded respin if one is triggered.

That’s pretty much it. There is no traditional bonus on this game but we never felt like we were missing one. The way this slot is produced it will keep you occupied and entertained with heart stoppers and animated features that will make you smile.

We played the game for nearly an hour and during this time it performed really well in terms of maintaining the balance and doing some great wagering. We even stopped with a decent profit. The game can pay quite well, there is no doubt about this if you managed to land a full screen or close to a full screen of the high value symbols, but don’t expect any super wins.

Don’t Miss

Be sure to try the sequel, Easter Island 2, which sees the wacky characters return for another adventure in a game featuring 6-reels and a 2,500 times the bet max win jackpot.
